Actress, singer and model Teyana Taylor is advocating for the women involved in a brawl over a week ago at a Brooklyn nail salon.
Taylor, who owns Junie Bee Nails in Harlem, met Monday with Christina Thomas and her grandmother Thelma, who were both involved in the brawl. Taylor says she's offering both free lifetime service at Junie Bee, including manicures, pedicures and eyebrow work.
Video of the melee went viral. It stemmed from a reportedly botched eyebrow job and resulting financial dispute. Days of protests followed the release of the video, with residents calling for the closure of the salon.
Taylor says she decided to step in after watching the video.
"I'm extremely heartbroken after seeing that video. It's very unacceptable," she says. "Reasons like that was the main reason why I decided to even open Junie Bee, before the whole incident even went down."
Taylor says the family has her full support, including access to her lawyers moving forward. The family says they appreciate all the support they've received.
