STRATFORD -

State police are investigating after a stabbing in Stratford sent one person to the hospital.

Police say the incident happened on Honeyspot Road and Anderson Street shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses say a car with four people inside it pulled over at a gas station near Exit 31 on I-95.

Police say a fight had broken out in the car while driving on the interstate, with one man stabbing another multiple times.

A witness says police spent more than an hour searching for the weapon. They say the attacker may have dropped it while fleeing the scene on foot.

Police say the victim was rushed to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
