Stamford residents will have to bag their own leaves this fall

Stamford residents this year will have to start bagging their own fallen fall foliage.
Traditionally, crews have removed fallen leaves from residents' yards. But officials say they can save money and time if residents do it themselves.
Hank Bornstein, of Stamford, says he's undergoing back surgery this fall and is not looking forward to the added hardship.
"It will be impossible this year," he says.
A spokesperson for Stamford's mayor points out that many municipalities in Fairfield County require residents to bag their leaves. Volunteers may be recruited to bag leaves for people who cannot do it themselves.
