US Marshals arrest fugitive murder suspect in Stratford

STRATFORD -

United States Marshals arrested a fugitive South Carolina murder suspect at a small waterfront motel in Stratford.

Andrew Evins was arrested around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Marnick's Restaurant and Motel.

He's accused of killing a 23-year-old man. Mashals say he likely sought refugee in Stratford because he has relatives in Connecticut.

Evins was turned over to Bridgeport police and is expected to be extradited to South Carolina.
