BRIDGEPORT -

Members of the Restoration Family Christian Church Center in Bridgeport held a cookout and book bag giveaway at Went Field Park this weekend.

More than a hundred people took part in the annual “Community Day” festivities

Organizers say their goal is to feed, clothe, and entertain Bridgeport residents at various locations through the city.

Thermond Owen, the Restoration Family Christian Church Center, said, “This is our sixth year of doing this, and it’s just been a great success. And Bridgeport is a great city and we’re here to make it even better.”

Church leaders say the food and fun was provided free of charge the public.
