A new high school in Bridgeport will open its doors to students for the first time Thursday.

The school cost the city $107 million to build, but officials there say it will be well worth it.

Warren Harding High School's campus located on Bond Street features a number of unique features in its four-story structure. Those include a digital stock ticker that winds around the walls of the school's financial learning center and smartboard technology in every classroom.

Parents will also have more peace of mind as more than 130 security cameras and bulletproof glass have been installed to keep students safe.

"They're going to be safe, they're going to be secure and they're going to be learning at the utmost and the top level in Bridgeport Public Schools," said Principal Dane Brown.

The school also has its own football field so students will be able to have a home game for the first time since 2014, according to the school's football head coach, Eddie Santiago.

Crews have been working 10-hour days to get ready for the 900 students who will be attending the school Thursday morning.
