Stamford police issue warning after car thefts, break-ins

Stamford police are warning residents to lock their cars and not leave belongings in plain sight in the wake of several incidents over the Labor Day weekend.
Police say they arrested two men Monday night for taking valuables from unlocked cars and that there were a rash of break-ins in dark parking garages along Summer Street.
They also say a delivery driver's car was stolen on Summer Street around 8 p.m. Friday. The vehicle, which was left running with the keys in the ignition, was found in Norwalk. Carlos Fraguara was arrested in connection with that incident. Police say he hit a police car before he was taken into custody.
Police say this is the second time in over a month that a car has been stolen from Stamford and found in Norwalk. Police are still investigating the most recent case.
