Another day of high temperatures meant another day of early dismissals for school children across western Connecticut.
Stratford, Brookfield, Stamford, and Bridgeport were among school districts dismissing early today, and several of them have dismissed early multiple times so far this school year.
Fairfield was conducting its first early dismissal of the season today, because the superintendent said many of the schools in the district don’t have air conditioning and the heat index was supposed to be at least 110 degrees in many classrooms.
Medical professionals say dehydration is the biggest concern if classrooms without air conditioning aren’t getting enough ventilation.
The decision to dismiss children early in the past week has been met by mixed reactions from parents.
