Stamford park getting facelift

Stamford’s Veterans Park is getting a facelift.
Local officials along with Gov. Dannel Malloy attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Veterans Park Project, featuring a flag ceremony and a blessing.
The project, which has been in the works for six years, includes a total redesign of the park to better honor veterans.
Veterans Park committee member Patrick Sasser said, “This park was built many, many years ago and over time a lot of things have changed; a lot of things got older in the park and it just needed that new look, it need to reactivated to draw people to this part of the city and increase the foot print in the park use in Stamford.”
The goal is to have the project completed by Veterans Day 2019.
