Miss Connecticut inspires dancers with Irish step dance at national pageant
This year's Miss Connecticut didn't quite take the crown as Miss America, but her dancing skills caught the eyes of many in her home state.
Bridget Oei finished as first runner-up in the Miss America competition Sunday.
Despite coming just short, local dancers felt inspired by Oei after she used an exuberant Irish step dance to steal the show.
At Sheeuan Academy or Irish Dance in Fairfield, students watched a video of Oei's performance, commending her skills and showmanship.
Members of the dance class say it was nice to see their skill celebrated outside of St. Patrick's Day.
