Sen. Richard Blumenthal has been investigating complaints of cockroaches and mice at a low-income apartment complex in Bridgeport.
Blumenthal met with residents like 80-year-old Sarah Harrell, who said they're tired of sharing their homes with rodents and insects.
He said Tower Two Apartments on Central Avenue accepts taxpayer funding, and is therefore answerable to federal investigators.
Blumenthal said, "The federal government has a real responsibility to make sure that the people who live here like Sarah and Robert Harrell have decent and comfortable housing without the pests of cockroaches and mice, which also can be health threats, and that's why we are going to demand answers from the folks who run this place."
The property manager did not respond to News 12’s request for comment.
