This week is Rail Safety Week, and today, police are focusing on Operation Clear Track.
Every three hours in the U.S., a person or vehicle is struck by a train.
Special agents with Norfolk Southern Railroad Police are working hard to change that.
Special Agent Thomas Jedic sees it all too often, drivers and pedestrians ignoring clearly posted signs at railroad crossings.
Pedestrians are also reminded to stay off the tracks at all times and on the mornings when you are late driving to work, remember, larger vehicles such as a school bus must come to a complete stop at every railroad crossing.
Operation Clear Track is the largest rail safety initiative of its kind.
