STAMFORD -

A 2-year-old boy was hospitalized Thursday after Stamford police say a television fell on his head.

Neighbors say it happened around 8:30 a.m. on the third floor of a multifamily home on Shippan Avenue.

Officers removed the TV from the home.

Officials say the child was initially taken to Stamford Hospital, but he was quickly airlifted to Yale-New Haven Hospital due to the nature of his injuries.

Police say the boy's mother was home at the time of the incident.

No other injuries were reported.
