Trumbull High School will reopen Monday after flooding forced it to be closed since Wednesday.
More than 7 inches of rain fell on the school during Tuesday's storm.
Despite the resulting closure, the school's football team got in a last-minute practice on Friday ahead of their nighttime game. One player said the flooding led to the cancellation of practice twice this week.
"It's definitely hurt us a little for football," said senior Justin Schwartz. "We haven't been able to get out here and practice like we need to."
The torrential rain basically turned the school's parking lot into a lake and filled the hallways. Crews have spent the last few days working nonstop to clean up all the damage and dry out everything.
The superintendent says the building wasn't compromised structurally. The health department has done a walkthrough and gave the OK to reopen.
