Federal authorities have arrested three Bronx men accused of running a black market pill-distribution ring inside of a University Heights building.
One of the suspects is the superintendent of 2314 Morris Ave., out of which authorities say the ring was operating. In the basement, agents say there were pills laced with drugs such as fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine being made.
The arrested men were identified as Agustin Vasquez Chavez, Yefri Hernandez-Ozoria and Roberto Castillo, the building's superintendent.
Court records state the three men sold thousands of pills to undercover officers on two separate occasions -- one in July and the other in September 2018. Those transactions were made in nearby locations, including on the Grand Concourse and on River Avenue near Yankee Stadium.
News 12 visited the superintendent's home. His wife was not there at the time, but News 12 spoke to someone who was baby-sitting his three children. The person appeared to be in disbelief after hearing the news.
