JACKSON -

A veteran from New Jersey who was injured while serving overseas was given a new home, which was donated to him and his family.

Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Toure Williams, his wife and this three children saw their new Jackson Township home for the first time Thursday. Chase Bank donated the home to the family, after it fell into foreclosure.

The organization "Operation Homefront" pairs veterans with homes that have been donated.

Williams, who is from Neptune, says that he is happy to be returning to the area after long-term medical treatment in Maryland.

“I was in Afghanistan in 2013 and I got injured overseas. And I got medevaced from Afghanistan to Germany. They did treatment there and then they shipped me to Maryland at Walter Reed,” he says.

Williams say that he was in Maryland for three years undergoing treatment and surgeries.

Recipients of "Homes on the Homefront" pay taxes and maintenance on the property for the first two years, and then it is deeded to them mortgage-free.
