New head of Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce starts Monday

Brooklyn has a new person in charge of creating economic growth and vibrancy.
Hector Batista, the new president of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce starting Monday, will be tasked with advocating for local businesses, which pay a yearly fee for membership.
“That's really what I'm excited about – helping our local businesses, both large and small, in dealing with whatever issues their dealing with every single day,” Batista told News 12
Fees for the Chamber of Commerce start at $150, and run as high as $25,000. In return, members get help with resources like marketing, recruitment and networking.
A spokesperson says the Chamber of Commerce has about 2,000 members citywide.
