The event was held Saturday at the museum, and organizers say it's the museum's biggest fundraiser of the year.

The museum staff says they aim to inspire and ignite creativity through the exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math.

One of the keynote speakers who attended the event, Kathleen O Brady, works at NASA, but first got her start in the planetarium in the challenger learning center at the Discovery Museum, Executive Director Bill Finch says.

The Discovery Museum was also awarded a  $20,000 grant from Stratford-based Sikorsky to fund an afterschool program for Bridgeport's public school students.
