DARIEN -

A man is accused of robbing a Darien gas station clerk at gunpoint, police say.

The incident happened Friday at the Gulf station on the Post Road around 8:30 p.m.

Police say the man pulled a gun on the clerk before removing cash from the register.

Gas station employees say no one was hurt, and they are working to release surveillance video of the incident.

Police say the last armed robbery in Darien happened at least three years ago and the incident involved a bank.

Residents say they are surprised the robbery occurred so close to their homes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Darien police at (203) 662-5300
