Sacred Heart University has been named in two different lawsuits filed on behalf of former students.
The family of 20-year-old Caitlin Nelson sued the school in connection with their daughter's death following a charity pancake eating contest on campus last year.
Nelson's family says they are hoping to raise awareness to the dangers of eating contests.
Meanwhile court records show two former football players falsely accused of rape by Sacred Heart University student Nikki Yovino are suing both her and the university for the damage done to their reputations.
Yovino was sentenced to one year in jail followed by probation for a falsely accusing two classmates of rape.
