Police: Men found with guns, Halloween masks inside stolen car

BRIDGEPORT -

Bridgeport police say they have made arrests that took several loaded guns off the streets.

Police say surveillance footage showed shots being fired from a four-door Honda Monday. Then on Tuesday, the car was spotted when it broke down on Old Town Road.

Police arrested the four men in the vehicle. Also inside were loaded guns and two Halloween masks, according to police. Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez thinks that the suspects were performing armed robberies or shooting other people.

The men were arraigned Wednesday. Two of them, Jameen Simpson, 21, and Zan Hairston, 21, are convicted felons. The two others are Javon Beal, 19, and Shaquinn Johnson, 20.

"This could have been a shootout in reality. They were all armed, the firearms were all in working condition, they were loaded, they had ammunition in the vehicle, they had more ammo," says Perez. "So yeah, this could have been bad."

Police also confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.
