A popular Milford restaurant faces extensive cleanup after a fire broke out there late Wednesday night.
The fire broke out Wednesday at Scribner's Restaurant on 31 Village Road in Woodmont, around 11 p.m.
Officials say fire broke out inside the rear of the building. Firefighters say they quickly controlled the flames, but the restaurant suffered smoke and water damage.
Two adjacent apartment buildings were evacuated as a precaution as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. The Red Cross says as far as they know, no one in the apartments above the restaurant were displaced.
Officials say no one was injured and the Milford fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
