Police identify Derby man as victim of Route 63 hit-and-run

Police say the person killed in a hit-and-run on Route 63 near the Naugatuck-Bethany town line was from Derby.

Investigators are looking for a 1997 to 2001 green Jeep Grand Cherokee that fatally struck Tony Goncalves Sunday morning.

According to police, the Jeep has front end damage - including a broken, missing front headlight.

The crash caused the road to be shut down several hours. Anyone with information is asked to call Connecticut State Police at (203) 393-4200.
