STAMFORD -

Surveillance images show a man police say drew swastikas on the sidewalks of Stamford, police say.

The discovery was made on Broad Street near the Ferguson Library in Stamford Thursday.

Police say the swastikas were written in chalk, and under them was the message "good luck."

They say the drawings were also seen on Bedford and Forest streets.

The two acts appear to be similar, according to police.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford and Jewish Family Services of Fairfield County had a previously scheduled lecture inside of the Ferguson Library where one of the hate symbols was discovered.

Police believe they captured the suspect on a surveillance camera outside the library around 3:30 a.m.

They describe him as a white or Hispanic male who was wearing blue jeans, a dark-hooded sweatshirt and a backpack.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident call Stamford Police at (203) 977-4444.
