A community park honored veterans with a new World War 2 monument in Glen Cove.
The memorial was unveiled Saturday morning in Morgan Memorial Park.
The city collected the names of 335 veterans who lived within 1-square mile of Glen Cove Landing.
Officials say the monument took six years to complete, replacing an old wooden monument that was retired due to weather damage.
Officials say the park gets plenty of visitors year-round, and the new monument will be visible at the entrance.
