WEST HAVEN -

A business owner in West Haven says the actions of a bus driver may have saved lives Saturday after the vehicle ran off of Interstate 95 and crashed into a business, injuring four students and the driver.

The bus filled with Princeton students was heading to a football game when it rolled off the ramp from I-95, blew through Campbell Avenue and curved through a parking lot before crashing into the Anderson Glass shed.

"He came off the ramp... he missed everything, he hit the softest target we have," says John Anderson, the owner of Anderson Glass.

The driver told witnesses after the crash that it seemed like his brakes failed.

Anderson says he built his store himself but isn't worried about what's lost. He says that with his own daughter at that same game, he knows what counts survived.

Anderson also says there were only two workers at the store at the time of the crash, but sometimes there are as many as 20 workers.

Police are still investigating.
