Fairfield DPW, first responders ready to combat winter weather

The Department of Public Works crews and Fairfield first responders say they are ready to combat the snow, sleet and rain Thursday.

DPW crews in Fairfield spent the day converting their trucks from summer to winter use before treating the roads with chemicals to prevent slippery conditions.

First responders say they are ready in the event of any emergency during the storm. 

Fiarfield police say residents should reduce their speed during winter weather events.

A wintery mix of snow, sleet, and rain will sweep through the region Thursday which will make for a messy commute, officials warn.
