Police ask public for help finding hit-and-run driver

Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help finding a driver involved in a hit-and-run which left a man clinging to life, police say.
The incident happened Friday at the intersection of Washington Avenue and James Street around 6 p.m.
The 43-year-old man was walking across the street when he was hit by a black sedan.
Police say the man may have been on his cellphone as he crossed the street and did not see the car.
The driver took off after the incident.
The man was transported to Saint Vincent's Medical Center where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
