Smart speakers are becoming pretty commonplace in people's homes.
There are even some that have handy screens to see information, and cameras you can use to have video chats. However those cameras concern some. Can you trust your personal privacy will be secure? That's why one company decided a camera wasn't needed on its new smart screen device.
The Google Home Hub is Google's first smart screen. It harnesses the power of the Google voice assistant in its speakers and android phones then adds in the ability to display all sorts of information on the hub's touch screen.
The device is smaller than you'd think. It's only a 7-inch screen, but Google did that because they want it to fit in any part of your home - from a study to even your bedroom sitting on your nightstand.
The home hub is $150 and has access to all of Google's services, including YouTube. That can be handy for entertaining the kids or cooking in the kitchen when your hands are full. At night its ambient light sensor turns down the screen's brightness and it comes in four colors to match any decor.
