WESTPORT -

A man and woman are accused of stealing a money clip containing $1,600 from a Whole Foods checkout line in Westport, police say.

Police released surveillance images of the two suspects who are accused of stealing the money clip at the Westport Whole Foods on the Post Road on Nov. 3.

Police say the man can be seen picking up the money clip which was mistakenly left behind on a stand near the checkout counter by another customer. The clip contained two credit cards and $1,600.

Once the owner of the clip realized what had happened they returned to the store.

Police say the couple are believed to be shopping couriers for local customers.
