A local group is getting the word out about building families during National Adoption Awareness Month this November.
The Boys and Girls Village in Milford has a program to match foster parents with children who may have come from significant poverty, abuse or neglect.
Precious McNeil from Bridgeport says she's been a mentor for 8-year-old Addison for the past two years and just adopted her last month.
McNeil says the two clicked and that the support at Boys and Girls Village helped to make it possible. She says she's happy she can now make a difference in Addison's life.
McNeil says she would adopt again.
