Annual holiday fair encourages neighbors to shop local in Milford

MILFORD -

The holiday season officially kicked off in Milford Friday night as hundreds flocked to the town's 17th annual Lamplight Stroll.

The event offered sights and sounds with lights, holiday music and horse-drawn carriage rides.

In addition to celebrating the holiday season, more than 25 stores were present for people looking to buy some gifts.

Small businesses involved say this is a chance to show people what downtown Milford has to offer.

New stores like Inside Living Style, which opened up just three weeks ago and older stores like Aricuolo Shoes, which opened in 1921, were part of the event.

The Downtown Milford Business Association says they hope all the small businesses will see a little something extra in their stocking this year.

Children who came to the event also had the chance to meet Santa.
