Suffolk SPCA: Woman abandoned dog on the side of the road
The Suffolk SPCA has charged a Central Islip woman with abandoning a dog.
According to the SPCA, Barbara Pearson, 57, left the 1-year-old Shih Tzu mix named Bubba on the side of the road.
The SPCA say the dog was let out of a vehicle on South Denver Avenue in Bay Shore on Nov. 19, and Pearson drove away. The dog was left running in circles and barking in the middle of the road.
The dog was rescued by a Good Samaritan who witnessed the incident.

Pearson is expected in court on Feb.15.
