Bethel woman fatally shot remembered as ‘kind and beautiful soul’

People in Bethel say they are still in shock after a young woman in town was found shot to death.
News 12 reported that Emily Todd, 25, was found dead Sunday morning near the boat launch ramp at Seaview and Newfield avenues in Bridgeport.
Police say a man shot her at the beach late Saturday. They say surveillance cameras helped them get a clear look at the suspect. No arrests have been made.
Todd graduated in 2011 from Bethel High School. First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker says he knows the family very well.
"It was awful. It’s just one of the worst things you can go through as a parent and my heart just goes out to the family," says Knickerbocker.
Emily Todd worked with dementia patients at St. John Paul the Second Center in Danbury. Her employer told News 12 that "she was a kind and beautiful soul."
Her funeral is set for Saturday morning at Bethel United Methodist Church.
