Police: 51-year-old man dead following late night crash

STRATFORD -

One man is dead and another is in serious condition after two vehicle collided in a Stratford residential neighborhood.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Nichols Avenue and Lincoln Street.

The crash sent the car rolling over onto a lawn. The car caught fire and both vehicles suffered severe damage.

Officials say when they arrived on the scene they found a 51-year-old man trapped inside of a vehicle. They tried to get him out, but were unsuccessful.

They say the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators tell New 12 the driver of the other vehicle was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital with serious injuries.
