The owners of a beauty supply store say they're fighting to keep their doors open in Brownsville.
Jeffrey S. and Sade Ogunkeyede say they beat the odds when they opened Brownsville's first black-owned beauty supply shop, Jeffrey's Beauty Supply, on St. Marks Avenue last year.
The business partners say the future of the store is in limbo, and have put everything on sale because they may have to move to another location by the end of the month.
They say they love being at their current location in Brownsville, but that there isn't enough foot traffic to support the business.
The partners say their landlord originally promised that he would be bringing in new stores to increase foot traffic, but more than a year later there hasn't been any change.
They have created a GoFundMe page in the hope of raising funds to stay open.
