WARNING: Thief steals package from apartment in Williamsburg

A warning to everyone who's expecting packages, especially as the holidays draw closer.
Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the man caught on camera stealing packages in Williamsburg.
On Dec. 11 around 6:30 p.m., investigators say he forced open the front door of an apartment building near Broadway and Hooper Street.
Once inside, they say he took off with a package that had a pair of shoes in it, from in front of someone's door and ran out of the building.
Police say he has a goatee and was last seen wearing a gray knit cap, a light blue jacket, a gray shirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers.
The NYPD is offering safety tips to keep your holiday packages safe. They suggest requiring a signature or using the address of a friend or neighbor you know will be home. Also, they say to always make sure to place insurance on packages especially if they're costly. Lastly, leave instructions for the delivery driver.
