Fairfield chef wins breakfast themed episode of 'Chopped'

Posted: Updated:
FAIRFIELD -
A chef best known for slinging egg sandwiches in Fairfield and Bridgeport has won 'Chopped'.

Eric Felitto held a watch party for the episode's premiere Tuesday at his restaurant The Chelsea in Fairfield. Felitto, who also owns the Tasty Yolk food truck, used his breakfast making expertise to serve some of his offerings during the Food Network show.

His appearance on the show was filmed nearly a year ago. He was forced to keep the episode's results a secret until Tuesday night, but friends and family finally found out his victorious fate, to the delight of the watch party crowd.

Felitto showed off some of his favorite dishes ahead of the watch party. He says working in both a restaurant and in food truck gave him a competitive edge.

"For me it's a little strange. I'm gonna be watching myself, people are going to be watching me watch myself, it's an interesting thing I have never experienced before," says Felitto. "We'll see how it goes, I'm glad I have so much support from community."

The episode appropriately focused on breakfast foods.
