‘Shop with a Cop’ event brings smiles in Stratford

STRATFORD -

The Burlington Store in Stratford was packed with kids Thursday night for its “Shop with a Cop” event.

The town of Stratford and Stratford police raised money so less fortunate children might have a brighter Christmas.

Each child received a $100 gift card and got to shop with an officer for gifts.

Victoria Jimenez, of Stratford, bought more for her family than she did for herself.

"It means a lot to me because my family right now is going through a really hard time,” she said.

Police say the number of children they were able to help doubled from last year.
