Holiday giveaway provides gifts for children, parents in Huntington Station

HUNTINGTON -

Christmas came a bit early for hundreds of families in need in Huntington Station.

Families in need were treated a holiday giveaway at Toys of Hope Sunday, where children were able to pick out toys ahead of Christmas.

Toys of Hope says it wanted to make sure that not only the children had a great holiday, but the parents got a little something too.

"We're just trying to fill in the gap and help them not just with holiday stuff. We gave them coats, we gave them bedding, we gave them food today. It was really incredible,” says Toys of Hope founder Melissa Doktofsky.

Parents at the event said they were grateful for the help they received to make Christmas memorable.
