MILFORD -

Two mall security guards were injured while breaking up fights between teens which prompted the closure of the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford, police say.

Milford police say they assisted mall security usher crowds out of the mall at 7:30 p.m., a full 90 minutes ahead of the scheduled closing time Wednesday night because of the incident.

Police say two mall security guards suffered minor injuries while trying to break up altercation between 100 teens.

The guards refused medical attention at the scene.

Responding officers say one fight would be broken up and then another would start up somewhere else.

Officers say they were quickly outnumbered.

They say at least one juvenile suspect was arrested for breach of peace.

Police say similar incidents also happened at the Shoppes at Buckland Hills in Manchester.
