BRIDGEPORT -

State police say a Bridgeport man fled on foot following a crash on I-95 and that troopers found marijuana in the vehicle.

Authorities were called to I-95 North in Bridgeport for an accident between a tractor-trailer and a car. Taijon Cooper allegedly took off on foot when emergency crews got to the scene.

Troopers searching the car found more than 4 ½ pounds of marijuana, they say.

Police eventually found Cooper at Bridgeport Hospital. He was arrested without issue.

Cooper is facing several charges and is due in court Jan. 16.
