More tires slashed at Coram apartment complex

A fresh rash of tire slashings were discovered Sunday morning on cars parked at an apartment complex in Coram.
The tires on at least 13 cars were slashed at Fairfield Courtyard apartments sometime before this morning, according to police.
It was only about two weeks ago when residents there woke up to the same situation. About 25 cars were targeted that time.
Resident April Gauvin was among the residents who were hit this weekend. She had to take the day off from work, and her husband relies on the car as a Lyft driver.
"It hurts our pockets," she says. "I had a managers meeting today I had to cancel. It doesn't just affect our vehicles, it affects us personally."
Gauvin adds that she hopes complex management boosts security and adds cameras. Other residents say they pay more than $2,000 a month to live there, and they can't afford for their tires to be ruined again.
News 12 attempted to contact Fairfield Properties for comment, but got a recording.
