BRIDGEPORT -

The man believed to be responsible for fatally shooting a 25-year-old Bethel woman whom he had met online was arraigned Monday in Bridgeport.

Police say Brandon Roberts, 26, lured Emily Todd to the Seaview Avenue dock in Bridgeport and shot her in the back of the head on Dec. 9.

Authorities say they later located Roberts in Ohio. News 12 is told that Roberts also later confessed to shooting another woman in Bridgeport last year.

"We can't bring Emily back but we brought justice to that family,” says Police Chief AJ Perez. “Put away the individual that committed this horrific act of violence, and hopefully he'll never do that to anyone else again.”

A GoFundMe that reads, “"The emotional scars are deep and in many ways, will never heal,” has since been set up to assist Todd’s family throughout their recovery from her loss.

Roberts is being held on a $2 million bond and is expected back in court next month.
