Students return to Cos Cob school after flooding

Students returned to their school in Greenwich Wednesday almost three months after it was flooded, officials say.
The Cos Cob School in Greenwich was flooded back in October.
A defective faucet burst in the art room and water flowed for about 20 hours, Gene Schmid, the school’s principal, says.
“The entire art room and media center were rebuilt while the school was shutdown. We lost all our furniture,” Schmid says.
The renovations left kindergarteners and first and second-graders without a school so the children were relocated to two other schools in the district.
Officials say third, fourth and fifth-graders were allowed to stay inside of the school on the third floor during the renovations.
The displaced kindergarteners and first and second-graders are now back in their school.
