Sen. Blumenthal: Hate crime at church will not go unpunished

BRIDGEPORT -

Sen. Richard Blumenthal announced Sunday that a hate crime at a Bridgeport church this week will not go unpunished.

A swastika was painted on the front doors of Saint Augustine Cathedral on Washington Avenue.

As News 12 has reported, police on patrol found the anti-Semitic vandalism this week.

The vandalism has prompted police to step up patrols and alert the Anti-Defamation League.

Officials say they are reviewing surveillance video from nearby stores to find who was responsible for the vandalism.
