Police say a Bay Shore man with a prior conviction for child pornography was arrested on the same charge.
Cristhian Villavicencio, 25, was taken into custody Monday evening following a routine search of his home by the probation department. According to court documents, images of children under the age of 16 showing their private parts and engaged in sex acts were found on Villavicencio's iPhone.
Villavicencio pleaded guilty in 2016 to child porn possession and was sentenced to 10 years of probation. As part of his probation, he was prohibited from having any social media accounts. Prosecutors said in court Monday that he had three accounts -- on Snapchat, Instagram and Kik Messenger, each with the username "Chris_themighty."
In connection with his latest arrest, Villavicencio was charged with child porn possession and failing to register social media accounts found on his phone, a violation of state corrections law.
Neighbors here on his block said they were disgusted and worried because there are lots of children around.
Bail for Villavicencio was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. He's due back in court later this week.
