BRIDGEPORT -

The suspect accused of fatally stabbing a man inside a Bridgeport home was in court Wednesday.

Kenyon Gay, 41, faced a judge at Bridgeport Superior Court in connection to the killing of 39-year-old Razzie Hancock.

Friends say Hancock was a peaceful person who will be deeply missed by everybody who knew him. The judge had to tell his family members to keep their calm in court.

Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez told News 12 that Gay stabbed Hancock Monday night at 136 Bishop Ave., in what he describes as a "crime of passion."

"It appears that he had some kind of relationship with the female and caught her with this other individual," Perez says. "I don't know the circumstances but I do know he did slash this female, he fatally wounded the male party who then subsequently died at Bridgeport Hospital."

The female victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

The judge cited the severity of the crime and set Gay's bond at $1 million.
