The Sanitation Department kicked into high-gear for anything that could come New York City's way this weekend.
Nearly 700 salt spreaders were placed in various locations, ready for any snow or rain, followed by icy cold temperatures Sunday.
The Sanitation Department assigned 2,300 workers to split 12-hour shifts through the weekend. About 1,600 snowplows were on standby/
The Department of Transportation also prepared by salting bus shelters, pedestrian overpasses and other city-owned surfaces.
Business owners and homeowners are responsible for salting sidewalks in front of their property.
