A Stamford warming shelter is ready to help those in need of relief from the cold.
Inspirica warming center in Stamford is just one of dozens of warming centers around the state.
They offer an overnight warming center with beds and blankets to keep you warm as well as showers and two light meals.
The first round of a wintry mix of snow and rain arrives Tuesday as colder temperatures begin to settle over the region.
News 12 meteorologists say temperatures will continue to get colder Wednesday into Thursday and struggle to break out of the teens.
Experts recommend taking the time to prepare for a cold weather event and to check in on senior citizens often.
Temperatures are expected to be at their coldest Thursday into Friday with a high of only 14 degrees.
Those looking for warming centers can dial 211, officials say.
